Colorful Rhombus Grooves

Isaac Hayes & South Park

Isaac Hayes & South Park

This one is sweet, sweet, sweet!

Coinciding with the start of the new South Park season...this is a gem. The intro is simply magical. For any fans of South Park, this is the man who voiced Chef before rage quitting the show in 2006 and who passed away in 2008. Luckily he left much beauty to listen to for many years to come. RIP!

If there are any South Park fans, I'd like to know your favorite episode or scenes in the comments! By far my favorite scene is from the episode...

Illa J - Universe

Illa J - Universe

If you know the late great J Dilla, you should also know that Illa J is his brother.

Illa J is originally from Detroit and was once a part of Slum Village. What is exciting is he has recently relocated to Montreal where he has been recording and releasing some truly dope shit.

Latin Funk Fest: Black Sugar - Too Late

Latin Funk Fest: Black Sugar - Too Late

Black Sugar released their self-titled EP in 1971. Originating from Peru, Black Sugar fuses Latin rock, jazz, & funk to create some funky tunes. The first cut off their album is found below and is by far my favorite. The saxophone throughout really captures my attention. Their album was reissued in 2007 both on CD & vinyl and captured a new (but perhaps small) audience from a different era.

Welcome to Colorful Rhombus Grooves!
Colorful Rhombus Grooves (CRG) will be a place where I will share music with you. How original, right? Right.
I have disliked radio since I can remember. Perhaps I was simply born decades too late. Radio bombards us with dark, angry music that costs millions of dollars to promote. With the internet is doesn't matter anyways since anything can be found. Regardless, don't expect Top 40 hits. What you can expect are feel good grooves, new and old, which hopefully enhances your moods...
